On 14 June 2006, the forced eviction of the Zocalo in Oaxaca City, ordered by the tyrant Ulises Ruiz Ortiz, failed. This moment marked a turning point in the struggle of the workers and peoples of Oaxaca, as it created the unity of various efforts and agendas for a common goal: the overthrow of the tyrant and the formation of a popular government.
